Also, final negotiations are underway with contractors to reopen the Don Lake access road last used in the 1960's. This road will not only be used for the current drilling program, but grants access to EAVR's other uranium properties, as the road passes by the former producing Cayzor Mine (http://www.endeavorexplorationsinc.com/s/Cayzor.asp) and access to the former producing Beta Gamma shaft is a short branch road off the main Don Lake Road.
Final negotiations are also underway with diamond drilling companies to begin drilling immediately upon receiving the drill permits.
Don Lake Geological Highlights & Exploration History
The occurrences comprising the showing occur on the southwest side of Don Lake in three radioactive zones named the Don Lake A, B and C zones.
Don Lake Zone A has intersected uranium mineralization along one main vein with a known length of 213.4 metres (700 ft) and that crosses the trend of a northeast-striking lineament. Seven trenches and 19 drill holes have previously been completed over the zone. Radioactive mineralization in Zone A, the most important of the three, is concentrated in one vein system.
Don Lake Zone B is considered to be a continuation of the A Zone. The host rocks are highly granitized to cataclastites or migmatites. Assays returns varied from 0.02% to 1.17% U3O8/ton (0.016% to 0.14% U/ton)
Don Lake Zone C occurs along a band of northwest-striking basic rocks. Assays from trenches and drill holes returned from 0.03% to 3.02% U3O8/ton (0.025% to 2.56% U/ton).
In 1966, Matrix Exploration Ltd. carried out surface work in the form of geological mapping and radiometric surveys. In 1969, they drilled 26 diamond drill holes over the three zones. Nineteen of these holes contained radioactive sections, and significant values over mineable widths were intersected. The highest assay obtained was 10.7% U3O8 (9.08% U) from a .31Â metres (1 ft) intersection in hole # 23. This hole is about 91.44 metres (300 ft) away from hole # 1, drilled by
Matrix Exploration Ltd. in 1976 did a grid scintillometer survey over the area. Two years later they re-evaluated available past exploration data and did scintillometer traverses over the mineralized zones. EAVR feels that there is an excellent opportunity to increase the size of the current potential zone of mineralization. An IP survey to further clarify the extent of the mineralization is being considered before a core drilling to further define the known zones of mineralization. The holes will be drilled within the trend of the mineralized zone.
