Call For Entries: Construction Writers Association 2008 Website and Electronic Communications Awards

CHICAGO, July 28 PRNewswire — Entries are being accepted for Construction Writers Association's 2008 Website and Electronic Communications Awards. In their eleventh year, the awards recognize excellence in journalistic and marketing-oriented websites, e-newsletters, e-zines, blogs, wikis, podcasts, and webcasts.

Entries will be divided into three classifications: — Website Award — Electronic Communications Award — Blog or webcast, if applicable

The competition is open to construction-related individuals or organizations and to construction-related websites or electronic communications. The deadline for entries is Friday, August 15, 2008. Entries must have been produced between January 1, 2007 and the submission deadline. The fee is $125 per entry. Winners will be presented awards at the CWA Awards Dinner on Thursday, October 16, 2008, during CWA's Fall Midyear Conference in Chicago, Illinois by this year's awards chairman, Michael Reilly, Reilly Communications. CWA is celebrating its 50th anniversary.

Websites will be judged on the basis of the following criteria, each carrying equal weight:

— Quality of content — Overall design — Use of innovative and accessible technology — Navigation — Search functionality — Interactivity — Reason to return to site — Meets stated objectives

Electronic Communications entries will be judged on the basis of the following criteria, and our judges will determine if any additional criteria is needed.

— Effective use of technology — Quality of content — Design and graphics — Accessibility (ease of use) — Meets stated objectives — Overall impression

Judging will be conducted by an impartial panel of peers with acknowledged expertise in business communication, website design and electronic communications. At the discretion of the judges, entries may be divided into additional categories. Whenever possible, winning entries will be linked to the CWA website.
