Mozy Founder Josh Coates Named Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year(R) 2008 Award Recipient in Utah

AMERICAN FORK, Utah, July 22 PRNewswire — Mozy, Inc., an EMC Company (NYSE: EMC) and the leader in online backup for businesses and consumers, today announced that Josh Coates, the founder of the Mozy online backup business, received the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year(R) 2008 Award in the software category in Utah. According to Ernst & Young LLP, the award recognizes outstanding entrepreneurs who are building and leading dynamic, growing businesses. An independent panel of judges selected Josh Coates and presented him the award June 27, 2008 at a gala event at the Salt Palace Convention Center.

In 2005, Josh Coates founded Berkeley Data Systems, the company behind the Mozy online backup service. In 2007, the company was acquired by EMC Corporation and is operated today as a wholly owned subsidiary within the EMC Cloud Infrastructure and Services Division.

Mozy automatically protects a person's digital information, including photos, music, spreadsheets and financial documents, from data loss in the event of hard drive crash, accidental deletion, natural disaster or theft. All files are encrypted first on the users' machine and then securely transferred to Mozy's remote data centers via the same encryption methods used for online banking. Mozy offers a suite of backup solutions that meet the needs of consumers, small businesses, and enterprise customers.
