Speedware Continues to Broaden its Market Reach with Signing of New Contracts

MONTREAL, July 22 PRNewswire - Speedware Ltd., a subsidiary of Activant Solutions Inc. and a leading provider of IT modernization solutions and productivity tools, today announced the signing of two new contracts, one to provide audit services for two IT modernization projects and the other for application support services. These contracts represent new IT services for Speedware, as the company continues to broaden its market reach.

Legacy modernization is increasing in importance as more companies realize that it is both costly and risky to continue doing business using older computing environments. Modernization can extend the life of older systems by maintaining current functionality and protecting the investment in current business applications while moving to modern technologies that are more open and powerful. However, the complexity of modernization projects can lead to project delays, cost increases and project failure. Speedware's modernization project audit services are designed to provide an objective, third-party evaluation of a project's health and recommendations for improvements across a variety of key areas, all focused on producing a successful project result. Speedware's recently-signed contracts will provide two modernization audits for a large government organization that is currently engaged in extensive modernization projects.

Speedware's second contract is for the provision of application support services to an Illinois-based electronics firm. For a variety of reasons, more and more organizations are choosing to outsource their application support. Outsourced application support is a solution for companies that are having difficulty finding trained resources or want to deploy their existing resources on internal projects that are strategic to the growth or enhancement of their business.
