Samsung Electronics Joins EEMBC Board of Directors

EL DORADO HILLS, Calif., July 22 PRNewswire — The Embedded Microprocessor Benchmark Consortium (EEMBC) today announced that Samsung Electronics is the consortium's newest member. Samsung joins EEMBC as a member of the consortium's board of directors, with full voting rights on all major issues decided by the consortium, plus full access to all of the EEMBC(R) benchmarks.

"Samsung is a leader in advanced semiconductor solutions representing many processor architectures and many applications," said EEMBC president Markus Levy. "Its involvement with EEMBC will provide some well-rounded guidance."

Samsung joins EEMBC at an exciting moment, as the consortium is completing work on its next-generation networking and multicore benchmarks, defining its first suite of benchmarks aimed at hypervisors (virtual machine monitors), and studying the benefits of scenario-based benchmarking for applications such as audio and video.
