John Hancock Preferred Income Fund Reports Third Quarter Earnings
BOSTON, July 17 PRNewswire-FirstCall — John Hancock Preferred Income Fund (NYSE: HPI), a closed-end fund managed by John Hancock Advisers, LLC, reported today that net investment income was $15,438,543 for the third quarter ended April 30, 2008. For the comparable period in 2007, net investment income was $14,783,075.
As of April 30, 2008, the net asset value per share was $20.80 with total net assets of $816,800,887* and 25,807,938 common shares outstanding. Comparable figures for April 30, 2007 reflect a net asset value per share of $24.64, total net assets of $915,598,916* and 25,793,274 common shares outstanding.
