Third Millennium Russia Fund Ranked #2 for Second Quarter
NEW YORK, July 8 PRNewswire-FirstCall — Third Millennium Russia Fund (OTC Bulletin Board: TMRFX) today announced that the fund was selected, for the quarter ending June 30, 2008, as the #2 Emerging Markets Fund in the U.S., and rank #29 overall fund for the Five Year Period then ended, according to Lipper (The Wall Street Journal, 7/3/08, p. R21). The Fund was up 15% for the quarter, with a one-year return of 32.6%.
"The Russian economy is not only not in a recession, it is still growing at a rapid pace," said John Connor, the Fund's portfolio manager. "And some of the companies in our portfolio are among the world's best performing, especially in fertilizers," he stated.
He noted that inflation is a concern in the Russian economy. "The Central Bank of Russia is exerting monetary control, while the consumer sector is booming."
