Miss Texas Organization Announces Preliminary Competition Winners
FORT WORTH, Texas, July 4 PRNewswire — The Miss Texas Organization today announced the winners of the preliminary competitions for the Miss Texas Scholarship Pageant and Miss Teen Texas Pageant. The preliminary competitions were held on July 1, 2 and 3 at the Will Rogers Memorial Center Theater in Fort Worth.

This year's Miss Texas and Miss Teen Texas pageants are being held July 5, 2008 at 7:00 P.M. at the Will Rogers Memorial Center Theater in Fort Worth. The winner of the Miss Texas Scholarship Pageant will receive a $10,000.00 cash scholarship to the college or university of her choice. The winner of the Miss Teen Texas Scholarship Pageant will receive $4,000.00 in U.S. Savings Bonds. The winner of the Miss Texas title will go on to participate in the Miss America Pageant in January. The Miss America Organization is the largest source for scholarship assistance for women in the world.

ABOUT THE MISS TEXAS SCHOLARSHIP PAGEANT
Texas women who are high school graduates, or have completed the academic requirements for entry into a four-year college / university degree program by July 30th, are encouraged to participate in a local pageant. In addition, all contestants must be single and never been married, between the ages of 17 - 24 by September 30th, an amateur or professional, and have a competitive spirit.

The Miss Teen program provides young women the opportunity to be better prepared as they move into the "Miss" competition age group.
