Baker Names Michael White Vice President and Controller of Energy Business
HOUSTON, July 2 PRNewswire-FirstCall — Michael Baker Corporation (Amex: BKR) has named Michael D. White, CPA, vice president, controller and chief accounting officer of its Energy business segment, effective June 23, 2008. In this position, he will assume all of the responsibilities related to managing the Energy segment's finance department.

White comes to Baker from Gexa Energy Corporation, where he had full accountability for all of the $650 million company's financial and accounting functions. Previously, he served as vice president and chief financial officer for Everyones Internet, and manager of assurance and advisory services for Ernst and Young, LLP. In the latter position, he managed financial statement audits, reviews and advisory services for the Technology and Emerging Markets Group, and provided consulting services to startup and emerging companies.
"With over 13 years of broad accounting and finance experience, most recently in the Energy business, Michael will be a valuable addition to our Energy segment," Craig O. Stuver, senior vice president and acting chief financial officer, said.
White has a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting and Finance from the University of Houston and is a Certified Public Accountant. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants.
