Georgia Company Warehouse Workers Keeping Comfortable With Innovative Climate Control System
Coenco System(R) Helps Improve Work Environment and Productivity
KENNESAW, Ga., July 2 PRNewswire — With Metro Atlanta as the sixth largest distribution center in the country, Georgia continues to draw warehousing and distribution companies from around the world. Meanwhile, the costs associated with heating and cooling these facilities can saddle companies with a significant financial burden — not to mention the cost of worker turnover due to the oppressive heat and humidity of summer.
Mitchell L. WerBell, IV, and his brother, Geoffrey B. WerBell, know all too well what a financial drain energy costs and inadequate working conditions can be on a warehousing business operation. The WerBells own and operate Kennesaw, Ga.-based Brigade Quartermasters, a mail order/wholesale distribution company that annually ships more than 250,000 orders of military and law enforcement gear and clothing products from its 50,000-square-foot warehouse.
Mitchell WerBell, while remaining president of Brigade Quartermasters, is adding the title of COO for a new company called Coenco Group, Inc. Geoffrey WerBell is president of Coenco Group and remains CFO of Brigade Quartermasters.
Three years ago the brothers learned about Dr. Frank Siccardi's Coenco System(R), an innovative technique for air movement and destratification that results in effective temperature uniformity throughout a building of any size. The Coenco System(R) creates this uniformity (including air, structure and contents) by providing thermal stability and precise control of the heating, ventilation and air-conditioning (HVAC) with a single, strategically placed temperature sensor.
The key to the Coenco System(R) is its ability to precisely control the temperature to within one degree from ceiling to floor, while reducing and maintaining a lower humidity. The system moves and mixes the air to produce a uniform temperature with a gentle breeze, unlike the pockets of hot and cold zones produced with traditional HVAC systems.
"For 20 years, our warehouse suffered high energy costs with reduced productivity and employee turnover," said Mitchell WerBell. "After installing the Coenco System(R), we saw immediate improvements in productivity, reduced absenteeism and reduced supplemental expenditures on refreshments and ice. We also found that our warehouse working space was cleaner and our products in better condition than ever before."
As the brothers heard similar results from other Coenco System(R) users, they decided to introduce the system's energy saving and comfort-improving technology to the humid Southeast.
The WerBells will distribute the Coenco System(R) in five states, including Georgia, but as Dr. Siccardi readily states his approach must be followed as intended to fully realize the opportunities and benefits of the system and, in some cases, to learn how to overcome unforeseen complications. "We are a scientific, results-oriented company," Siccardi said.
Mitchell WerBell added, "We are pleased to bring this timely, scientifically improved technology to the warehousing and distribution services market. Companies have the potential to save 50 to 70 percent in HVAC equipment, energy and operating costs, while improving productivity as a result of a more comfortable and content work force."
"The Brigade Quartermasters warehouse is a demonstration of what the Coenco System(R) can do in any big box space operating traditional HVAC systems," said Mitchell WerBell, who added the system has been installed in many different types of facilities such as warehouses, restaurants, gyms, sports arenas, distribution centers, food processing plants, hotel atriums and venues such as indoor swimming pools.
"The Coenco System(R) works for facilities that may require heat only, ventilation without heat or air conditioning, heat removal and many other applications. In today's climate of daily news reporting the increasing price of oil, the importance of saving energy cannot be understated," Mitchell WerBell said. "It's been estimated that over a four year period, saving less than five percent of U.S. electric and four percent of natural gas can cut wholesale utility prices by 20-25 percent. That's a savings of nearly $142 billion. It's just good corporate citizenship to use less energy, reduce carbon and work toward a greener environment."
Coenco Group, Inc. is the distributor for the Coenco System(R) in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, North Carolina and South Carolina. Coenco Group is at 1025 Cobb International Drive NW in Kennesaw, Ga. For more information, see http://www.CoencoGroup.com.
