Anaren Announces That Its Application Note/Layout Packages for Texas Instrument's CC2420 and CC2430 Has Been Extended to the CC2500 Model

SYRACUSE, N.Y., June 18 PRNewswire-FirstCall — Anaren, Inc. (Nasdaq: ANEN) announced today that it has completed the application note/layout package for Texas Instrument's (TI) CC2500 series of ultra-low-power, small footprint, low-system cost transceivers. (The company previously released the documentation package TI's CC2420 and CC2430 models). Anaren's matched "0404" balun simplifies the new CC2500 RF transceiver bill of materials, helping to maintain the overall low system cost of TI's industry leading multi-channel radio for low-power wireless applications. Operating in the 2.4 GHz frequency band, the CC2500 model includes several useful digital features, including full-packet handling, FIFO buffers, clear channel assessment, wake-on-radio, and more.

"Based on the expertise and tiny form factor Anaren delivered for us on the CC2420 and CC2430, partnering with them again on this new model was a simple decision," said Vidor Bergli, Texas Instruments Product Marketing Manager. This product, he indicates, is aimed squarely at the wireless game controllers, keyboard/mouse, automatic meter reading, and home/building automation markets. "Some of our customers have limited RF expertise, so a lower component count alternative to our traditional lumped element approach will speed-up development and reduce time to market," Bergli added.
