Regional Leaders to Address Housing Foreclosure, Release Study Detailing Region's Growing Crisis in 2008

Background:

As the entire country struggles with the housing foreclosure crisis, the problem in metropolitan Washington has grown more serious in recent months. A study by George Mason University's Center for Regional Analysis will detail the problem at this summit hosted by COG and sponsored by Freddie Mac. Regional leaders representing public officials, the housing industry and nonprofit organizations will discuss ways to provide a safety net for affected families. A report on the role of nonprofits serving those affected by the crisis, "You Have 10 Days to Move Out," will be released at the conference by the Nonprofit Roundtable of Greater Washington.
