'From a Child's Mind to an Adult's Heart': Author Recalls Simplicity of Childhood, Impact of Adults on a Child's Future in New Book

HARKER HEIGHTS, Texas, June 18 PRNewswire — For anyone who has ever looked back on the simplicity of childhood with fondness — and for those who are seemingly too busy to take the time to do so — comes the nostalgic, heartfelt new book from author Thop Brown, "From a Child's Mind; To an Adult's Heart" (published by AuthorHouse — http://www.authorhouse.com).

"As I look at this world today, and how some children have to worry about where their next meal is coming from or whether their mothers are coming home, I realize how blessed I was to be born in the era of the '50s where the majority of the adults genuinely cared about the well-being of the children," Brown explains. "'From a Child's Mind; To an Adult's Heart' is written about my life as I saw it as a child, and the adults that made an impact on my life."

Dedicated to those adults who molded Brown into the person she is today, "From a Child's Mind; To an Adult's Heart" was written in the hope that it would "jog the memory of others, causing them to recall how special they felt when adults took the time out of their busy schedules to play ball or any game with them." Brown hopes to bring back memories of a life without worry: of the safety and security that many children are not fortunate enough to experience today.

Brown also wishes to showcase God's role in the development of a healthy, happy child. According to Brown, when one puts God into the equation of life, love is inevitable, despite any problems that might arise. It is essential for children to witness this love, so that they may learn to love and respect each other.

"Children tend to mimic adults," Brown points out. "Our society today is so individualized until some of the children only think about themselves. The children don't know how to love and have no regards for human life."

But with a return to the ways of relating and thinking of decades past, it doesn't have to be this way. "From a Child's Mind; To an Adult's Heart" shares the solution as it shares the details that made Brown's childhood such a learning experience.

"On one hand, I know that my readers will find laughter and shed many tears," says Brown. "On the other hand, the love and devotion that the adults had for each other and us will shine through."

"From a Child's Mind; To an Adult's Heart" is Brown's first published book. She has completed a book of poetry and is currently at work on two novels, "Calling All Mothers" and "On the Inside Looking Out."
