43rd Art & Apples Festival Welcomes Back National City as Title Sponsor

ROCHESTER, Mich., June 18 PRNewswire — It's name may be new, but the recipe is the same. Fine art, good food and non-stop entertainment; that's what's cookin' for the 43rd annual National City Art & Apples Festival. The September 5-7 event is rolling out a new title sponsorship with returning corporate partner National City.

The festival attracted an estimated 110,000 attendees in 2007 with an even larger audience anticipated for 2008. Over 265 artists will be exhibiting in mediums including textiles, watercolor, woodworking, glassblowing, pottery, jewelry and more. With several new attractions and some fresh twists on old favorites, this year's festival offers even more art, and more family-friendly activities.

Produced by Paint Creek Center for the Arts (PCCA), a regional non-profit art center, the festival is Michigan's second largest juried fine arts fair and in 2007 was voted among the TOP 35 of 'Sunshine Artist' magazine's "200 Best Festivals" in the nation.

"It is an honor to have the festival again recognized nationally," said Suzanne Wiggins, executive director of Paint Creek Center for the Arts. "With National City's returning support, we are able to focus on our overall goals of increasing both festival attendance and awareness of PCCA and the wonderful programs we offer throughout the year."

The 2008 National City Art & Apples Festival will once again feature non-stop entertainment on the "Main Stage" and two "Around the Park" stages over the three-day festival weekend. The stages will include something for everyone including music by regional and national headliners, choreographed dance, spirited gymnastics, and favorites performed by all three Rochester area high school bands.

"We are pleased and proud to return as the title sponsor," said David Boyle, president for National City in Michigan. "It's a privilege to be part of a tradition that features an organization that continually works so hard for the growth and preservation of the community and appreciation of the arts."

Paint Creek Center for the Arts is a non-profit regional art center located in downtown Rochester. PCCA is focused on enhancing life in the region by promoting, encouraging and producing opportunities to participate in and appreciate the arts.

Sponsorship and volunteer opportunities are still available. For additional information about the National City Art & Apples Festival, please call (248) 651-4110 or visit www.ArtandApples.com.
