American Electric Power CEO to Speak to the Detroit Economic Club on the U.S. Energy Challenge

DETROIT, June 17 PRNewswire — The Detroit Economic Club is pleased to host Michael Morris, chairman, president & CEO, American Electric Power Co. on Monday, June 23, 2008. The speech will begin at 12:30 p.m. and will be held at the Troy Marriott in Troy, MI.

As if the current economic downturn isn't enough, we now face a supply/demand issue in world oil production and consumption. Unfortunately this could be closely followed by a shortage of electricity occasioned by our own shortsightedness. In a speech titled, "Energy: The Next U.S. Challenge," Michael Morris will discuss these issues and offers his ideas for solutions.
