Rock Energy Resources Acquires Acreage in South Texas Near Garwood Field Prospect

HOUSTON, May 20 PRNewswire-FirstCall — Rock Energy Resources, Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: RCKE), an independent domestic oil and natural gas company, today announced that it has acquired certain additional working interests in the prolific Wilcox trend in Colorado County, Texas in the Company's Garwood Field Project. Proven, probable and possible natural gas reserves in the Garwood project are estimated to exceed 40 billion cubic feet (bcf). In addition, Rock Energy has assumed operatorship of the entire project. Detailed terms and conditions of the transaction were not disclosed.

Rocky Emery, Rock Energy's Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, noted, "With this acquisition, Rock Energy has solidified its position in one of our core areas, and, in turn, meaningfully enhanced our development economics. Moreover, as operator of the project, we are now in full control of the development of the project."
