American Pool Champion Earl 'The Pearl' Strickland to Perform in Wilmington, NC

WILMINGTON, N.C., May 15 PRNewswire — The Orton Pool Room presents Earl "The Pearl" Strickland to perform in a trick shot show and host the 2008 Orton Mosconi Cup here on Saturday, May 17, 2008, starting at noon. Earl was recently admitted to the Billiard Congress of America Hall of Fame.

Earl is a multiple winner of the prestigious Player of the Year Award, and his career highlights include five wins at the U.S. Open Nine-Ball Championships — more than any other professional pool player worldwide. Earl is the only player to ever win back-to-back championships at the WPA World Nine-Ball Championships. Earl consistently ranks in the top ten of fans' favorite players.
