Bravo! Development Inc. Deploys Unified Threat Management Technology to Enhance Security at Its Restaurants
The deployment is part of Bravo's! initiative to secure critical data that is processed and/or transmitted from its restaurants. The Trustwave UTM appliances will help ensure their on-going compliance with multiple regulatory requirements.
According to IDC, a subsidiary of International Data Group (IDG), the world's leading technology media, research and events company, unified threat management security appliance products include multiple security features integrated into one device. To be included in this category versus other segments, the appliance must contain the ability to perform network firewalling, network intrusion detection and prevention (ID&P), and gateway antivirus (AV). All of the capabilities need not be utilized, but the functions must exist inherently in the appliance.(1)
The Trustwave UTM-10 appliance delivers a variety of services to Bravo! Development Inc. The single UTM-10 device provides multiple security applications, including:
— Firewall — Ensures that only authorized users have access to Bravo's IT environment — Intrusion Prevention — Alerts of any potential compromise attempts — Anti-Virus — Protects against the latest online hazards — Content Filtering — URL Screening to block inappropriate Web sites — VPN — ensures confidentiality and security of communications between your organization and remote employees or other connected entities
All of these services can be utilized concurrently to provide the best possible defense against online hazards attempting to access consumers' personal and critical data.
