LIFE Delivers Books to Iraqi Schools Project Leads to Establishment of Libraries

SOUTHFIELD, Mich., May 8 PRNewswire-USNewswire — As part of its ongoing efforts to alleviate human suffering, the American-based relief organization, Life for Relief and Development (LIFE), recently completed a joint project to deliver tens of thousands of dollars worth of books to nine schools in Iraq.

In partnership with Spirit of America (SoA), an American non-governmental organization based in Los Angeles, California, LIFE delivered these valuable books to the various schools, through its Iraq office. The project has led to the creation of libraries within several of the schools, which include many kindergartens.

The 3,000 books, valued at $50,000, include titles such as, "Why Should I Sleep Early," and "Don't Worry Dad." They were received with great excitement by students and teachers alike.

Commenting on the project, LIFE President & CEO Dr. Mujahid Al-Fayadh stated, "This project offers another opportunity to assist the Iraqi children and the education sector in the troubled country. It also highlights the appreciation that the beneficiaries feel and the lasting impression that this may have on their future generations."

Among LIFE's current humanitarian activities in Iraq are the operation of a network of healthcare centers, the sponsorship of hundreds of orphans, providing medical and scientific books to schools and universities, and the provision of food, hygiene kits, and blankets to internally displaced persons.
