Jacqueline Moran Welby Joins Law Firm of Skarlatos & Zonarich LLP

HARRISBURG, Pa., May 7 PRNewswire — Jacqueline Moran Welby, former senior legal counsel in the Pennsylvania Department of Aging, has joined the law firm of Skarlatos & Zonarich LLP.

She will participate in the firm's team approach to elder law, helping to provide advice and services to clients concerning estate planning, long-term care planning, wills, living wills, powers of attorney, health care powers of attorney, and trusts, among other things.

"Between the onset of retirement age for members of the Baby Boom generation and the growing concentration of older citizens in Pennsylvania, the demand for elder law is growing dramatically," she said. "I am happy to be part of a law firm that is especially sensitive to and experienced in responding to the needs of such clients."

While with the Department of Aging, Welby served as counsel for the PACE prescription assistance program for seniors and represented the department in regulatory and administrative legal matters. Prior to joining Aging, she served as assistant counsel in the Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare. She also was associated with private law practices in Reading and Harrisburg.

A native of Cressona, she is a cum laude graduate of Albright College with a dual major in business and political science and a graduate of the Boston University School of Law.

She and her husband, Sean, also a lawyer, have a daughter, Erin, and live in Harrisburg. She serves on the board of the Twin Ponds Figure Skating Club and provides pro bono legal services through the Philadelphia-based Senior Law Helpline. She is a member of the Elder Law Committee of the Pennsylvania Bar Association and the Continuing Legal Education Committee of the Dauphin County Bar Association.
