The Society of Young Philanthropists Announces 4th Annual Gala 'Beyond Borders'

LOS ANGELES, May 7 PRNewswire — The Society of Young Philanthropists, one of Los Angeles's premier charity groups for young professionals, will host its 2008 Gala "Beyond Borders" on Saturday, May 31 at The Paley Center for Media* in Beverly Hills (formerly The Museum of Television & Radio). The Gala will be attended by over 500 of the area's most accomplished and distinguished young business owners and professionals ages 21 - 35. Guests will enjoy dancing and cocktails late into the evening on Paley's exclusive Roof Deck and throughout the building. Top line sponsors include Heineken, Kettle One Vodka, SALT Catering, and Moss Networks (marketing, PR, and events).

This year's Gala theme "Beyond Borders" will highlight the ways in which young professionals can partner with communities worldwide to improve their daily quality of life and lay foundations for international cooperation. Proceeds from the Gala will benefit two charities that exemplify the "Beyond Borders" theme: Engineers without Borders and Doctors without Borders. The UCLA chapter of Engineers without Borders will receive a grant to assist in construction of a preschool in rural Thailand. Doctors without Borders will receive a grant to assist their fight against childhood malnutrition in Niger.

The Society of Young Philanthropists is a Beverly Hills based not for profit organization that works to promote the involvement of young professionals in philanthropy. Over the past three years SYP has raised over $200,000 for various charities and hosted over three thousand young professionals at charitable events.

"There has never been a more important time to raise awareness of the ways in which we as young people can think globally to make a real impact. With this year's 'Beyond Borders' theme, the Society of Young Philanthropists hopes to inspire our generation's budding leaders to use their insight and skills to affect change," said Megan Prichard, SYP's Executive Director.

Moss Networks (http://www.mossnetworks.com), a full-service Marketing, Events and PR firm, has partnered up with SYP to help facilitate this year's Gala. In addition to managing production needs, coordination, and PR, the Moss Networks team has also orchestrated this year's stylish gift bags going out to all 500 guests, including 100 extra special goodie bags for the VIPs.

Bonnie Moss of Moss Networks expressed her excitement for this event, "We are thrilled to be working with SYP on this event; it's not only going to be a great night, but it's also an honor to be part of an event that generates awareness for such commendable causes."
