Bright's Creek Golf Club Welcomes Prestigious BMW Charity Pro-Am Golf Tournament

MILL SPRING, N.C., May 7 PRNewswire — Bright's Creek Golf Club will be the setting for the BMW Charity Pro-Am, one of golf's premier fund-raising events, May 15 - 18.

As one of three host sites for the tournament, Bright's Creek will welcome BMW Manufacturing, Co. — PGA Nationwide Tour professional golfers and celebrity guests from around the world who will play (weather permitting) from May 15 -17, on the Bright's Creek course.

As Bright's Creek Golf Club's inaugural Nationwide Tournament, the prestigious event is expected to attract thousands of guests to the beautiful Tom Fazio-designed championship golf course. The Golf Club offers picturesque views of the Western North Carolina Mountains for spectators and the millions of television viewers who tune in to see the celebrity-studded event live on the Golf Channel.

The celebrity golfers and tour professionals will face a challenging course during the three days of play scheduled at Bright's Creek. From the Championship tees, the 7,435 yard par 72 course offers competitive play inside the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Surrounded by meandering creeks, gently sloping fairways and undulating greens, the course offers an enjoyable, but challenging play for golfers of all levels.

In conjunction with the tournament, Bright's Creek will also present a celebrity auction Saturday, May 17, and will donate a homesite to be auctioned at the event. Other celebrity events will be planned throughout the tournament to benefit the participating charities.

In recent years, the tournament has raised more than $5.7 million for numerous charities. This year's tournament benefits charities selected by South Carolina Charities, Inc. Additionally, this year's professional winner of the overall 72-hole event takes home $121,500 from the total purse of $675,000, one of the largest purses on the Nationwide Tour.
