Bank of America Converts LaSalle Brand in Illinois

CHICAGO, May 5 PRNewswire — Bank of America today announced the conversion of the LaSalle Bank brand to Bank of America in Illinois, bringing the strength, convenience and capabilities of the largest retail and commercial bank in the nation to the Chicago region.

As the Bank of America brand becomes more visible today through rebranded locations and ATMs, legacy LaSalle customers will see changes in the look and feel of their banking centers in Illinois. In the coming weeks, customers will receive new Bank of America-branded debit and ATM cards and will begin to see account statements displaying the Bank of America name. To make this transition as smooth as possible for customers, existing account numbers and customer information will remain the same.

"We're excited about providing great convenience and access to services to LaSalle customers as we transition to the Bank of America brand," said Illinois Market President David Rudis.

Also, as part of today's announcement, Bank of America will host events at several local banking centers to unveil the new branding.

Bank of America customers throughout the Chicago area can access the benefits of the largest retail bank in the nation, with access to most Bank of America products and services, including:

— More than 6,100 banking centers nationwide, including more than 200 in Illinois. — Nearly 18,500 ATMs, the nation's largest ATM network, including 750 in Illinois with features such as no-fee, unlimited transactions for Bank of America customers. — Innovative consumer banking products such as the Keep the Change(R) savings program, the Risk Free CD and No Fee Mortgage PLUS. — Personalized wealth management solutions through U.S. Trust, Bank of America Private Wealth Management. — Expanded credit and treasury service capabilities and enhanced access to global capital markets and investment banking through the nation's premier corporate and commercial bank.

Building on a Legacy of Community Commitment

To commemorate the combination of the two companies, Bank of America executives, along with local community leaders and members of the Art Institute Board of Trustees, announced a $1 million grant to the Art Institute of Chicago. The grant will support the construction of student and family activity rooms in the new Ryan Education Center of the museum's Modern Wing, scheduled for public opening in the spring of 2009.

"This grant is evidence of our commitment to Chicago and the arts locally," Rudis said. "Bank of America will continue to be a leader in this community through the services we provide and our support of programs like this."

Bank of America also unveiled an unprecedented program called Art and Family that provides every Chicago Public Schools student in grades K-12 — almost 400,000 young members of the Chicago community — with free family passes. Each student and up to three family members are invited to experience the Art Institute in the next year.

"This generous grant from Bank of America will enable the Art Institute to serve and interact with a greater number of students in Chicago," said Art Institute of Chicago President James Cuno. "The grant comes at a particularly exciting time for us as we enter the final year of Modern Wing construction. The Ryan Education Center will allow for focused opportunities to learn about the works of art in this world-class collection. We are pleased that Bank of America is joining the Art Institute as we endeavor to present the best possible educational programs in a new, dedicated space in the Modern Wing."

Additionally, the bank recently announced the launch of its acclaimed Museums on Us(TM) program in Illinois, which offers anyone with a Bank of America debit, credit or ATM card free admission to the Art Institute, the Chicago History Museum, and the Museum of Contemporary Art — during the first weekend of every month. The program also grants similar free access to more than 70 cultural institutions across the country.

Bank of America also supports organizations that address critical issues in the Chicago community. In December 2007, Bank of America announced $5 million in grants to provide funding for several initiatives that assist Chicago residents and support the city's neighborhoods, including:

— $2 million to aid Chicago residents in avoiding mortgage foreclosures. — $1.25 million to help train and employ Chicago residents for new workforce opportunities. — $1 million to support local human service organizations that assist qualified low-income residents with winter heating bills. — $750,000 to develop workplace and financial literacy skills programs and positive after-school experiences for Chicago's teens.

In addition, the Bank of America Charitable Foundation will provide a double match for every dollar up to $1,000 to Illinois associates making contributions from May 3 through May 10 to any qualifying nonprofit organization.
