Katina Zinner Creates On-The-Spot Drawings of Sensual Nudes at Live Draw!

SANTA MONICA, Calif., April 30 PRNewswireSanta Monica's international contemporary abstract painter, Katina Zinner (http://www.katinazinner.com), has been tapped as one of the artists to paint on-the-fly originals of three magnificent nude models for the Live Draw! at DCA Fine Arts (http://www.dcafineart.com), on May 24, 2008. Guests will watch Zinner, a well known film editor, generate vibrant pastel-on-paper nudes before their very eyes. Live Draw! will take place at DCA Fine Arts, 3107 Pico Boulevard, Santa Monica, 90405 from 7 to 10 p.m. Proceeds from the sale of the art created will benefit non-profit SMASH.

Known for her wild, large format oils that capture the very essence of space, movement and shape, Zinner is inspired by shapes, lines, textures, and the power, simplicity and magnificence of nature. Her work is spontaneously conceived and vigorously executed; capturing the moment it was created through use of strong color and movement. This up-and-coming Los Angeles native's work utilizes an architectural approach, and is currently featured in the mother / daughter exhibition Zinner2 at the DCA Fine Art Upstairs Gallery.

At Live Draw! art is created before guests' eyes. Fine food and drink are offered, an ambient soundtrack is spun by DJ S.I.M.O, and the scent of pastels, oils, paints, canvas fills the air. Nude bodies touch lightly in artistic poses. Last year's event raised over $40,000 for The Human Rights Project.

"This event is a happening unlike any other," said Live Draw! founder and owner of DCA Fine Arts, Delia Cabral. "We choose our artists carefully for this coveted event. I am humbled by Katina's ability to convey movement in a stylized contemporary and structured manner."
