McCormick Place West to Unveil 50 Works of Public Art From Local Artists

CHICAGO, April 24 PRNewswire — The Metropolitan Pier and Exposition Authority (MPEA) will unveil its public art collection in the new, state-of-the-art McCormick Place West Building, featuring 50 works by 30 Chicago and Illinois artists. The MPEA, which owns and operates Navy Pier and McCormick Place, is the owner of one of the largest public art collections in Illinois.

MPEA commissioned the artwork, which was assembled by Chicago art consultant Paul Klein. Each piece is distinct in its medium, size and scope and was designed with the goal of humanizing, engaging and enhancing the viewer's experience within the award-winning architecture of the McCormick Place West Building. This public art collection is part of MPEA's commitment to serving its neighboring community and welcoming the world to the new McCormick Place West space.

These art acquisitions use media from photography, oil and acrylic on canvas, found items, wood, beaded fabric, interactive video, sculpture and more.
