Luxury Institute Survey Names Bang & Olufsen Most Prestigious Luxury Audio and Video Brand

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill., April 16 PRNewswire — High net-worth consumers in the US have rated Bang & Olufsen the most prestigious luxury audio and video brand in the 2008 Luxury Brand Status Index survey from the independent New York City-based Luxury Institute.

In a press release, the Luxury Institute said that respondents recommending Bang & Olufsen commented that, "their reputation is unsurpassed," and they have, "great technology and superior sounds."

In a historical first, Bang & Olufsen won the video category as well as the audio category with respondents saying that, "Bang and Olufsen has video equipment that is stylish and high quality that any discerning customer would want to own."

Commenting on what differentiates the best from the rest, Luxury Institute CEO Milton Pedraza said that, "although technological innovation in video has been accelerating, it is accessible to most brands. [However,] few brands have differentiated on design, ease of use, service and other attributes that are just as important to luxury video consumers."

The Luxury Institute is an independent ratings and research institution. The Institute provides a portfolio of proprietary publications and research on leading edge trends, high net-worth consumer rankings and ratings of luxury brands and best practices.

The proprietary Luxury Brand Status Index (LBSI) survey is the only measure of the prestige of leading brands among wealthy Americans. For the 2008 LBSI, a national sample of 1,400 wealthy American consumers, with an average income of $341K and average net-worth of $3.9 million, was surveyed online.
