MMTC Updates and Re-Issues Popular Red Flags in Manufacturing: Assessment Knowledge for Manufacturers for No-Fee Download
PLYMOUTH, Mich., April 15 PRNewswire-USNewswire — The Michigan Manufacturing Technology Center (MMTC), the Michigan affiliate of the federal Manufacturing Extension Partnership (MEP), has updated and re-issued the popular Red Flags in Manufacturing: Assessment Knowledge for Manufacturers. The first edition was a collaborative effort with the National Institute of Standards and Technology and the Network for Excellence in Manufacturing. The website provides an abstract and sample pages link to the pdf formatted document.
Red Flags in Manufacturing is a structured guide to assessing a manufacturing organization in three general areas: business systems, manufacturing operations, and personnel. An assessment process is used to identify the strengths and weaknesses of the overall manufacturing enterprise.
MMTC research director Dan Luria, Ph.D. notes that "while Red Flags was originally designed for use within the MEP network but we found companies use the guide as a surprisingly complete tool for conducting their own operational assessment."
