Achievo CIO Discusses IT Security at IAOP Chicago Chapter Meeting

SAN RAMON, Calif., April 15, 2008 PRNewswire — Achievo(R) Corporation, a software outsourcing and information technology services provider, is proud to announce that Bernard F. "Bud" Mathaisel, the Company's senior vice president and chief information officer, will give a presentation on IT Security at the next chapter meeting of the Chicago chapter of the International Association of Outsourcing Professionals (IAOP). Achievo offers its clients local account management and project delivery capabilities through its regional offices in Japan, North America, Europe and Greater China that are integrated with and supported by its offshore delivery centers in China and its headquarters in the United States.

The next meeting of the IAOP's Chicago Chapter will be from 3:30 pm-7:00 pm (CDT) on Thursday, April 24, 2008 at the Hyatt Center, 71 Wacker Drive, Chicago.

Mr. Mathaisel's presentation is entitled "IT Security — What to Do When Preparing to Outsource." The presentation addresses steps for preparing for an outsourcing arrangement, the IT security issues relevant to outsourcing, how ISO 27001 certification impacts the effectiveness of outsourcing partnerships, the components of an ISO 27001 certification, and how it is awarded. This quarter's chapter meeting also includes "The Key Elements of the Outsourcing Contract," to be presented by Gregg Kirchhoefer, partner at Kirkland & Ellis LLP. Achievo was recently recognized as one of the world's top 100 outsourcing service providers on the IAOP's Global Outsourcing 100 list for the second year in a row.

There will be a networking reception from 6:00 pm-7:00 pm, immediately following the presentations and panel discussion.

Bernard (Bud) F. Mathaisel has worldwide responsibilities for the vision, strategy and implementation of Achievo's information technologies, policies and programs. Previously, Mr. Mathaisel was senior vice president and CIO for Solectron Corporation, with global responsibility for information technology and business process reengineering. Prior to Solectron, Mr. Mathaisel served as CIO at Ford Motor Company and Walt Disney Company, respectively. Earlier in his career, Mr. Mathaisel was the founding director of Ernst & Young LLP's Center for Business Innovation in Boston, a group dedicated to the conception and development of leading-edge ideas and management approaches to business innovation.

Mr. Mathaisel serves on the board and audit committee of Packeteer, a global market leader in application traffic management for wide area networks; the board and audit committee of e2open LLC, a business entity that provides collaboration and supply chain software and services for the electronics and aerospace industries; and the executive board of QD Technology, a query database company. He is also on the technical advisory boards of several technology companies including Baring Private Equity Asia. He is a member of CIO Magazine's editorial advisory board, and he has been a McKinsey reviewer for the Harvard Business Review.

Mr. Mathaisel received bachelor's and master's degrees in science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Cambridge with high honors.
