Education Technology Expert Kathleen Brautigam Joins Affinity Technology Consultants

HARRISBURG, Pa., March 27 PRNewswire — Kathleen Brautigam, Former Director of Education Technology for the Pennsylvania Department of Education, has joined Affinity Technology Consultants, a leading professional and advisory services and consulting firm.

Brautigam will serve as Affinity's Manager of Education Technology Strategy. She will primarily work with clients in the education marketplace to help them develop and administer new technology strategies to enhance their services.

Prior to joining Affinity, Brautigam had been dedicated to integrating current and emerging technologies in support of instruction, communication, administration and strategic planning for 32 years.

In 1998, she began a quest for access to affordable, reliable broadband service and requisite educational resources for rural, underserved regions of Pennsylvania. The resulting Act 183 E-Fund initiative, which she continued to lead during her tenure within state government, became a huge success. The initiative now has 440 Pennsylvania education entities and all 29 Intermediate Units under contract to form the statewide network.

Brautigam also managed educational technology systems integration across multiple regional and statewide enterprise initiatives. These model programs include the development of an education portal (the EdHub); a data driven, strategic planning and reporting tool (eStrategicPlanner); and technology integration coaching and mentoring programs (Keystone Technology Integrators and PA Technology Integration Mentors).

Her depth of experience has resulted in invitations to testify before state and federal government committees on the effectiveness of Pennsylvania's education technology initiatives.
