Miami Gardens Woman Wins Grand Prize at Jazz Festival

MIAMI, March 21 PRNewswire — At last weekend's Jazz in the Gardens music festival, Cedricia Hagans of Miami Gardens, FL was awarded a seven-day cruise for two courtesy of Royal Caribbean International. The city's mayor, Shirley Gibson, randomly selected the grand-prize winner during a raffle drawing on Sunday evening. Hagans, a local postal worker, will be sharing the Caribbean cruise vacation with her fiance. "I couldn't believe they actually called my name, I never won anything before," exclaimed Cedricia. "My family is so happy for us, because we are always working and helping our kids, so we definitely deserve this. I'm so excited to go on this cruise."

As a proud sponsor of the Jazz in the Gardens event, representatives from Royal Caribbean were on hand to present the grand-prize package to the lucky winner. "We are thrilled to provide Ms. Hagans, a resident of our local community, with the chance to experience a Royal Caribbean cruise," said Dianne Williams, multicultural marketing manager, Royal Caribbean International. "We understand the importance of connecting with our consumers and it brings us great pleasure to give back in this way."

The Jazz in the Gardens celebration took place on the grounds of Dolphin Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida on March 15 and 16. The premiere music festival continues to be the signature event for Miami Gardens, home to the largest population of African Americans in Florida. More than 20,000 jazz enthusiasts attended the festival, which featured entertainment by Wyclef Jean, George Benson, Chaka Khan, Nancy Wilson, The O'Jays and more.
