Schroders Adds Multi-Asset Fund to U.S. Lineup

NEW YORK, March 10 PRNewswire-FirstCall — Schroders, the $280 billion* global asset manager, today announced the launch of the Schroder Multi-Asset Growth Portfolio as part of the firm's continuing North American expansion. This Fund is designed to give investors the opportunity to invest in a mutual fund with a global tactical allocation that includes alternative investments such as private equity and hedge funds.

Andreas Koester, Head of Multi Asset Solutions US & Europe, comments:

"We believe this Fund is one of the first of its kind in the U.S. market. By investing in a wide range of traditional and alternative asset classes and employing in-house as well as non-proprietary funds, along with a clear focus on risk management, this strategy is designed to provide a stable long-term return stream for the investor."

Schroder Multi-Asset Growth Portfolio (MAG) is targeting returns in excess of the rate of U.S. inflation, but with significantly reduced volatility relative to an all-equity portfolio. The Fund seeks these returns by using a combination of the following strategies:

— Active asset allocation among a broad array of traditional asset classes, such as equity and fixed-income investments, and less traditional, alternative asset classes or strategies, such as investments in private equity, hedge funds, real estate securities, commodities, currencies and absolute return strategies; and — On-going asset allocation across markets and asset classes in response to changing market conditions and market cycles; and — Specialist management within certain of the underlying asset classes. We may itself manage the Fund's assets allocated to a particular asset class, either directly or through a mutual fund or other pooled vehicle that we manage, or we may invest the Fund's assets in other investment companies or private investment pools providing access to specialist management outside of the Schroders organization.

The Fund will be available in multiple share classes, from Schroders, through financial intermediaries such as wirehouses, independent broker/dealers and registered investment advisors for retail accounts, as well as through fee-based wrap, retirement and institutional accounts.

In addition to Mr. Koester, the Fund will be supported by Schroders' London-based Multi-Asset team, comprising over 35 research analysts and fund managers. The Fund will use an unconstrained benchmark approach, seeking lower correlation and lower volatility relative to purely equity investments.

"By actively managing a mix of asset classes and specialist vehicles that are not usually available within one fund, we believe MAG enables investors to benefit from genuine diversification and obtain less volatile investment results when compared to pure equity investments," said Carter Sims, Head of Intermediary Distribution. "With the addition of MAG and its new approach to diversified growth investing, we believe that our North American fund lineup gives all investors tremendous access to Schroders' global expertise and solution-oriented capabilities."
