SPJ Cleveland Sets Program on Ohio Migrant Workers
UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS, Ohio, Feb. 19 PRNewswire — Gary Harwood, chief Kent State University photographer, and David Hassler, program and outreach director of KSU's Wick Poetry Center, will discuss their award-winning book, "Growing Season," Thursday, Feb. 21 on the campus of John Carroll University in University Heights.
In photos and stories, "Growing Season" examines the work and family experiences of a group of migrant workers in Northeast Ohio. The authors spent five years following the workers who worked on a Hartville farm.
The free program is sponsored by the Cleveland professional chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists.
The program will run 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 21 in the Dolan Center for Science and Technology on the John Carroll campus at 20700 North Park Blvd., University Heights.
