Decorize, Inc. Achieves Company Sales Record for Winter Markets
SPRINGFIELD, Mo., Feb. 15 PRNewswire-FirstCall — Decorize, Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: DCZI), a recognized leader in the home accents industry, announced today that new sales orders for the Company's GuildMaster brand increased by 80% at the recent furniture markets in Atlanta, Georgia, Dallas, Texas and Las Vegas, Nevada. The Company opened new showrooms in Dallas and Las Vegas and featured Christi Proctor, one of the original "Trading Spaces" designers' new line of licensed lamps for Decorize's GuildMaster brand.
"We have spent the last few years building and investing in our premium brand, GuildMaster," stated Steve Crowder, Chief Executive Officer of Decorize. "Our vertically integrated model of building to order and delivering to the retailers in less than 60 days is a first in the industry. "Customers in our furniture manufacturers channel such as Ashley and customers in the mass retail channel such as Pottery Barn have introduced our product in their stores over the last few months."
The Company also filed its fiscal 2008 second quarter results with the Securities and Exchange Commission on Form 10-QSB yesterday. The Company reported a second quarter operating loss of $90,000 which was a significant improvement over the last quarter's loss of $190,000. Gross margins improved 560 basis points over 2008 fiscal quarter one. "While we will not be pleased until we achieve sustainable profitability we are making significant progress in establishing the GuildMaster brand, which is the core of our business model and anticipate strong operating results over the last half of our fiscal year," stated Dan Graham, Chief Financial Officer of Decorize. "Our sales in this high margin channel have increased 200% over the last two years in part due to our wholly owned production facilities which allow us to reduce supply chain costs over our competitors who import product."
