Sheetz, Inc. Names New Vice President of Human Resources
ALTOONA, Pa., Feb. 12 PRNewswire — Phil Freeman, vice president of human resources for Sheetz, Inc., has announced he is stepping down after 19 years of service. Freeman began his career with Sheetz in 1988 as corporate controller in the finance department. He served in that role until 1996, when he was promoted to vice president and controller. In 2000, Freeman assumed leadership over the human resources department.
"It was a difficult decision to leave Sheetz, but I've decided to take some time to pursue other career opportunities and interests," said Freeman. "Everything I know about running a business the right way, I've learned here at Sheetz. I am so appreciative of everything this company has done for me professionally and personally."
Manager of internal communications, Stephanie Hoover, will step into Freeman's role as the new head of human resources. Hoover brings 7 years of Sheetz experience to the position. She began her career at Sheetz as Manager of Human Resources for CLI Transport, Sheetz' dedicated fuel carrier.

"Stephanie brings a wealth of knowledge and ability to her new role," says Stan Sheetz, president and CEO, Sheetz, Inc. "We'll miss Phil terribly but we're excited to begin a new chapter of growth with Stephanie's leadership in Human Resources."
A native of Johnstown, PA, Hoover is a graduate of Penn State University with a BS degree in Labor and Industrial Relations with a concentration in Human Resource Management. After receiving a law degree from Widener University, she worked for 5 years as a labor and employment attorney. She joined CLI Transport in 2001 as the Manager of Human Resources and in 2003, accepted the position of Manager of Internal Communications for Sheetz. Last year, Hoover took on the additional role of leader of the Brand Strategy Department and became a member of the Sheetz Strategic Planning Team, responsible for the long term planning for the company.
