Nation's Leading Lenders will Increase Fees, Making Credit Much More Expensive for Potential Homebuyers and Homeowners Looking to Refinance

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz., Feb. 11 PRNewswire — As home prices and interest rates are finally starting to look attractive again, the nation's leading lenders announced increased delivery fees and new Loan Level Price Adjustments for anyone with a credit score below 680.

These increased fees will be effective March 1st, 2008 and will make credit more expensive for potential homebuyers and homeowners looking to refinance.

If your score is below 680 you could be paying a mandatory fee, of up to 2% more. These new fees are the lenders' way of recouping losses associated with the recent rise in delinquencies and foreclosures.

Under Loan Level Price Adjustments, additional costs are assessed to mortgages based solely on credit score ranges that fall below 680.

Sometimes small changes to your credit profile can yield big results that could save you thousands on your next mortgage purchase or refinance. Email A.J. Johnson at ajbjamin@cox.net for FREE information on how to protect yourself from the latest in our mortgage crisis mess.
