BLACK ENTERPRISE Celebrates Oscar(R) Week with an All-Star Gathering Celebrating the Top 25 Hollywood Moneymakers
BEVERLY HILLS, Calif., Feb. 6 PRNewswire — As the entertainment industry prepares to celebrate excellence during the 80th Annual Academy Awards(R), BLACK ENTERPRISE magazine will honor its exclusive list of the "Top 25 Moneymakers in Hollywood," as featured in its March 2008 issue, on Wednesday, Feb. 20.
The invitation-only celebration takes place from 9:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills. Last year's event made headlines and drew an all-star gathering of A-list talent, including Eddie Murphy, Chris Brown, Clarence Avant, Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds, Vivica A. Fox, Rev. Jesse Jackson, Earvin "Magic" Johnson, M.C. Lyte, Sheryl Lee Ralph, Russell Simmons, Robert Townsend, Chris Tucker, Jon Voight, Katt Williams, and Serena Williams.
The evening kicks off with a special salute honoring legendary actress Ruby Dee. Currently nominated for Best Supporting Actress for her portrayal of Mama Lucas in American Gangster, Dee has already won a SAG award for that performance. Grammy(R) Award-winning hip-hop musician will.i.am will get the party started with an exclusive performance, and high-energy grooves will be provided all night courtesy of the legendary DJ D-Nice.
