Palm Coast Residents Deemed Biggest Chick-fil-A Fans in the Country
As part of the chain's 40th anniversary celebration last year, Chick-fil-A invited its fans to submit a video - up to one minute in length - that creatively pleaded their case as to why they believed they were the brand's most passionate fan. The top 10 videos were selected through an online vote and a panel of Chick-fil-A corporate marketing executives. The nine other finalists will be awarded free Chick-fil-A meals for a year and Chick-fil-A merchandise.
The Snelen twins' video was selected from nearly 100 submissions and featured their lifetime of experiences with Chick-fil-A. As tennis professionals, the twins appreciate the chain's healthy menu items and have dined at a Chick-fil-A restaurant in more than 50 cities in 11 states. Highlights of the video include Rachel winning a local cow naming contest by submitting the name "Nugget" in 1996 and the twins' effort to introduce people from more than 15 countries to their favorite restaurant, Chick-fil-A.
"Chick-fil-A is honored to have so many passionate customers across the country, and we thought this promotion would be a great culmination to our 40th anniversary celebration," said
In one of its first engagements into the realm of consumer-generated media, Chick-fil-A initiated the contest to give the chain's most devoted customers an online voice to express their passion for the brand. As a result, Chick-fil-A discovered the true diversity of its customer base. Submissions ranged from toddlers "mooing" their love of the brand to teachers leveraging their students to seniors braving the use of video cameras and computers to tell their lifelong Chick-fil-A stories.
Creativity also varied. One fan showed off his computer editing skills to create a story of how a pair of magical slippers whisked him away to Chick-fil-A at the first sign of hunger, while another loyalist decorated her entire house - from window dressings to wall decor to bedspreads - with Chick-fil-A-branded items.
