Vote for 2008 Schlotzsky's(R) Bun Run(R) T-Shirt Design

AUSTIN, Texas, Feb. 1 PRNewswire — Love the Annual Schlotzsky's(R) Bun Run(R)? Want to choose which design will end up on the 2008 long-sleeve race t-shirt? For the first time ever, Schlotzsky's and race sponsors RunTex, Mix 94.7 FM, Majic 95.5 FM, Talk Radio 1370 AM and the Young Men's Business League of Austin (YMBL) are leaving the look of the Bun Run t-shirt up to the public.

Now through Thurs., Feb. 28, voters can pick their favorite design at www.bunrun.com. Participants will automatically be entered in a random drawing to win one of 10 free Bun Run race entries, valued at $28 each.*

Want to wear the Austin skyline sandwiched in a famous Schlotzsky's Fresh- from-Scratch(R) bun? How about a retro bun, running buns, or even a King Kong bun? Artists from a variety of locales put their handiwork to the test, but the finalists come from places as close as Austin and as far away as Jackson Heights, N.Y. The winning artist will receive $1,000 and recognition at the race on April 13 — and of course, thousands of race participants and volunteers will sport the selected masterpiece.

The city's longest-running 5K, the Annual Schlotzsky's Bun Run hosts an average of 5,000 participants and raises an average of $50,000 for Austin Sunshine Camps, YMBL's program that sends at-risk and disadvantaged youths to summer camp to learn about leadership, team-building and trust. "Austinites have shown great interest in and support for the Bun Run and Austin Sunshine Camps for over 25 years, so we thought this new t-shirt contest would be a fun way to take their involvement in the race to a whole new level" said Kelly Roddy, president of Schlotzsky's.

"Not only that, but the long-sleeve t-shirt has reached pop culture status in Austin and the surrounding areas," continued Roddy. "People wear them all year long, and thousands of participants have shirts dating back to the original race. Who could pass up a chance to be part of an Austin tradition by helping to choose which design becomes part of a Bun Run history?"
