Los Angeles-Area Norwalk Marriott Hotel Completes Renovations and Features New 'Marriott Great Room'

NORWALK, Calif., Jan. 31 PRNewswire — The Norwalk Marriott Hotel, located at 13111 Sycamore Drive in Norwalk, CA - 19 miles east of Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) and within easy access of the area's numerous attractions - has completed an extensive $4.5 million renovation of its lobby, restaurant and bar, public and meetings spaces. The 171-room non-smoking hotel is the third Marriott in the U.S. to adopt the brand's "Great Room" concept, which has transformed the lobby into an adaptable, open space with "zones" that enable guests to easily meet and work in small groups, take private time out, or casually dine with easy access to the latest technology.

The hotel is owned by Goldenpark, LLC and managed by Lane Hospitality of Northbrook, IL.

The "Welcome" zone is more than a place to check-in at the front desk or kiosk, offering a new approach to personalized concierge service. The "Individual" zone is a quiet place to unwind with small, comfortable spaces to read, work, surf the net or listen to personal entertainment, or enjoy a snack, while the "Social" zone enables groups to relax in a lounge atmosphere for impromptu meetings or breakout discussions. The "Business" zone features a multi-functional boardroom with audio/visual equipment, business center, and space for private conversations.

Ideal for business or social occasions, the hotel features 13,000 square feet of renovated meeting space with nine different meeting rooms; the 7,000 square-foot "Vineyard" grand ballroom that utilizes natural light and a decor of wine-like colors of cabernet, merlot and gold, and more than 2,000 square feet of pre-function space. All feature wireless high-speed Internet access and flexible lighting. An on-site audio/visual team is available to assist with meeting requirements.

For dining and relaxing, the Norwalk Marriott features the newly renovated, upscale Sonoma Grill, which blends the Sonoma Valley and Italian countryside of Tuscany with hearty recipes of pasta, pizza, steak and seafood cooked over a wood-burning stove. The adjoining Sonoma Bar offers more than 60 different wines and beers, complimentary cheese and wine tastings.

The hotel features an 8th floor Concierge Level with a Lounge that provides complimentary breakfast and hors d'oeuvres. All guestrooms, including 27 Executive Suites and a Presidential Suite, boast Marriott's Revive(R) bedding with thicker mattresses, down comforter with sheeted duvet, 300-thread-count cotton rich linens, and more pillows. Rooms offer Marriott's "Wired for Business" with unlimited free high speed Internet access and free phone calling; two-line speakerphone and voicemail; TV with in-room pay per view movies and games; CD player/radio; in-room coffee makers, refrigerators and microwaves. In addition, there are spacious marbled bathrooms and guest bathrobes.
