On2 Technologies Announces On2 Flix(R) Publisher(TM) for Mac at Macworld 2008

On2 Flix Publisher is a fully customizable software development kit licensed to video websites. It can be branded by the website owner and integrated directly into their pages, giving users a seamless branded experience in encoding, previewing or submitting videos.
Flix Publisher empowers users to automatically encode and publish videos to web sites using only their web browser with simple drag and drop capabilities. Flix Publisher also allows users to capture live videos from any camera attached to their computer. Videos are encoded within the browser on a user's desktop in On2 VP6 for Flash format, the video format licensed by Adobe from On2 for Adobe Flash Player 8 and 9. With this announcement, Flix Publisher is now compatible with Safari on Mac.
For web site operators, Flix Publisher enables incredible cost savings within the video publishing workflow. All videos are encoded to site-defined requirements and uploaded to the site servers, ready for immediate publishing.
Using Flix Publisher, sites are able to control their expenditures on video transcoding servers, upload bandwidth, and storage space, resulting in tremendous cost savings, both in infrastructure and operations, which are among the largest operating cost elements for video web sites.
