Alternative Brands Inc. to Join MSA

MOCKSVILLE, N.C., Jan. 10 PRNewswire — Renegade Holdings Inc. announced today that its subsidiary, Alternative Brands Inc., has decided to join the Master Settlement Agreement, an agreement under which cigarette manufacturers make payments to the States in lieu of health related claims. Formal applications are currently being filed with the National Association of Attorneys General.

"It's a very important step in the growth of our company," said Calvin Phelps, President and CEO of Renegade Holdings. "It will gain us access to new markets and allow us to distribute our products nationally, rather than regionally. It's a very exciting time for us. This is a major step forward."

In a related corporate move, Renegade Holdings will begin to wind down operations under its sister company, Cutting Edge Enterprises. "This will allow us to concentrate on our core brands, such as Tucson(R) cigarettes and Vendetta(R) cigars, and focus on expanding our new brands more efficiently."

Alternative Brands operates a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Mocksville, North Carolina. Future expansion has already begun, including machinery for tobacco processing as well as manufacturing equipment for cigars and other tobacco related products.
