ADC Denounces Three Former Terrorists, Now Peace Activists: But Openly Supports Hamas and Hizballah Event at U. of Michigan Tuesday, Jan. 30

ANN ARBOR, Mich., Jan. 29 PRNewswire-USNewswire — On Tuesday, Jan 30 at 7:00 PM, three former terrorists will present "Terrorism: The World's Greatest Threat," at the University of Michigan, Rackham Auditorium, in Ann Arbor. The event is free and open to the public.

The American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee (ADC) has called the upcoming presentation "hateful discussion," and have asked the university to reconsider allowing the event on campus, according to the Detroit News.

But former terrorists, Walid Shoebat, Zachariah Anani and Kamal Saleem, say the ADC is attempting to stop their talk because a number of its key members, including its prominent leader, Imad Hamad, openly support Hamas and Hizballah.

According to attorney and commentator Debbie Schlussel: "Hamad was a suspected member of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP), the Communist faction of Palestinian terrorism responsible for countless homicide bombings and the October 2001 assassination of Israeli Tourism Minister Rehavam Zeevi. "The INS was so opposed to Hamad's presence in the United States that it fought to deport him for over two decades. But because the immigration judge chose to disregard classified evidence, he is now a U.S. citizen. "As Midwest Regional Director of the ADC, Hamad has been promoting the terrorist cause by supporting Hamas and Hizballah in media interviews." See http://www.debbieschlussel.com

Ryan Fantuzzi the Vice President of Young Americans For Freedom, the student organization sponsoring the university event, says he is dismayed and shocked by the reaction of the ADC.

"I appeal to the American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee as well as to other Arab and Muslim organizations to join us in condemning terrorism in peace and solidarity with the brave voices of Shoebat, Anani and Saleem." Fantuzzi said.

All three former terrorists risk their lives daily to relay their message. Anani has been targeted by Islamist groups because he lives near the event. These groups have mounted a public witch hunt against him.
