Marshmallow Shooter Tops Best Selling Toys of 2006

SAN FRANCISCO, Dec. 4 PRNewswire — AreYouGame.com released their first annual "Best Selling Toys and Games of 2006" in time for the holiday season. The yearly event awards the most popular board games, puzzles and other fun stuff.

There were hundreds of toys and games to choose from, however the product with the most consumer excitement was Marshmallow Shooter, by Marshmallow Fun Company. The fan favorite won in a number of categories including Most Popular Product and Favorite Employee Toy. The most wanted item, which holds 25 mini- marshmallows and can shoot up to 30 feet, triumphed over Hide and Seek Safari, by R & R Games and NFL Trivia, by USAopoly.

A remodeled family classic and a new face to the toy list each received awards. Monopoly — Here and Now, by Hasbro, won for "Best Updated Board Game" and "Favorite Family Pastime." Instead of landing on Boardwalk and Park Place, the made over game gives players the opportunity to land on and own some of the most famous landmarks across the United States. Destinations include the Golden Gate Bridge, the St. Louis Arch, and famous airports, such as LAX and O'Hare. Grateful Dead, the Game, by University Games, received the award for "Favorite New Board Game West of the Mississippi."
