Baker to Provide CM/CI Services for Rankin Bridge
PITTSBURGH-(Business Wire)-October 2, 2008 - Michael Baker Jr., Inc., an engineering unit of Michael Baker Corporation (Amex:BKR), announced today that it has been awarded a construction management and construction inspection (CM/CI) contract by the Allegheny County Department of Public Works for the rehabilitation of the Rankin Bridge which crosses the Monongahela River near Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. This important link between Rankin, Pennsylvania, and Whitaker, Pennsylvania, serves more than 22,500 vehicles a day and provides access to key regional destinations such as Kennywood Amusement Park, the Waterfront Complex, and UPMC Braddock Hospital. The $47 million rehabilitation project is scheduled to conclude in September 2010. Baker’s CM/CI contract is valued at $3.5 million.
