National Authors apply Timeless Tips to New Trends at Historic NW Venue

SEATTLE-(Business Wire)-October 2, 2008 - In 1908, explorers and adventurers who made their fortunes in the Klondike Gold Rush returned to Seattle and established an upscale social community known as The Arctic Club. In October 2008, Puget Sound business and communications leaders can experience the same luxury and prestige at the Puget Sound PRSA Annual Meeting in the newly renovated Arctic Club Hotel’s Northern Lights Dome Room.

Headlining the annual event will be Dan Solomon and Brian Reich, authors of Media Rules! Mastering Today's Technology to Connect With and Keep Your Audience.

“As we all know, when it comes to communicating with target audiences, businesses and organizations have more than enough tools to get the job done — traditional media, Web sites, blogs, podcasts, social networks, search engines, and many more,†said Janelle Guthrie, APR, 2008 PRSA President. “Consumers have more choices and higher expectations than ever before. Savvy communicators must decipher which vehicle will work for which audience and tailor their communications to achieve results.â€

Solomon and Reich will provide new insights into the realities of reaching audiences using new media technologies and strategies. Media Rules! includes interviews with more than three-dozen business leaders and communication innovators, including Chris Anderson, Editor of Wired; Frank Kern, V.P. of Global Communications for Starbucks; Mark Lukasiewicz, V.P. of Digital Media for NBC; and Steve Rubel, senior V.P. at Edelman Communications.

Ten lucky attendees will win a copy of the book just for registering! Additional copies of the book will be available for purchase at a discount at the Borders’ book-signing after the meeting from 9 to 10 a.m. in the Arctic Club Northern Lights Dome Room.
