Applied Signal Technology, Inc. Launches Next-Generation Surveillance Product

SUNNYVALE, Calif.-(Business Wire)-October 2, 2008 - Applied Signal Technology, Inc. (NASDAQ:APSG) (AST), a leading provider of advanced signal processing solutions, today launched the first 3G capable surveillance product that is specifically designed for ground-based tactical operations and Intelligence Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) applications. The RAIDER, Model 680 has the ability to support survey requirements for very high-speed data rates and voice communications as well as process the full spectrum of communication signals with 4 times the capacity over today’s surveillance technologies.

Initial RAIDER product orders have already been secured. The company is currently in discussions with other customers that have expressed a strong interest in its RAIDER product as well as its ROGUE man-pack and HYDRA airborne ISR systems.
