Command Center Deploys 300 Workers for Port of Galveston Clean-up
POST FALLS, Idaho-(Business Wire)-October 2, 2008 - Command Center, Inc. (OTCBB:CCNI), an emerging provider of on-demand, reliable labor solutions, today announced it has deployed more than 300 workers to provide clean-up operations at the Port of Galveston, Texas. The deployment has been arranged through a major reconstruction contractor and is expected to continue for the next 60 days.
Added to the current staffing demands being serviced by Command throughout the Greater Houston area, the company is now providing between 550 and 600 workers daily for the Hurricane Ike relief efforts.
The company said the Port of Galveston project is “unique and different†from other disaster relief efforts in which the company has participated. The customer, one of the world’s leading contractors specializing in disaster recovery services and solutions, has secured a cruise ship that will house and provide three meals each day for the workers. To secure a “consistent and committed workforce,†Command Center has transported many of its highest-rated workers from the Southeast Region to Galveston. Some workers have come from states as far away as Tennessee.
“We are pleased to be chosen for such a major undertaking,†said Glenn Welstad, Command’s Chairman and CEO. “I believe we have already demonstrated, particularly in the face of trying circumstances, how the quality of our workers and the reliability of our advanced systems can satisfy and, hopefully, exceed the expectations of large restoration contractors working in these distressed areas. We pride ourselves in helping to get the job done right – whatever the size!
“I also want to acknowledge and thank our VP, National Accounts, Pollyann Grubelnik, as well as her staff and all our dedicated workers, for Command’s success in the Houston area since Hurricane Ike. Despite limited supplies of food and water and intermittent power, they have pushed forward day after day to satisfy the enormous need for an organized and efficient clean-up.â€
Mr. Welstad added that management has been “diligent†in overseeing Command Center’s core business activities nationwide as it increases its involvement in the Houston/Galveston area. “Disaster recovery work will only enhance the company’s overall results. I don’t expect it to negatively impact the operations of our established branch offices in any way whatsoever.â€
