CogniSign Launches Joint Venture for the Asia Pacific Region at CEATEC 2008 in Tokyo

SAN FRANCISCO & TOKYO-(Business Wire)-October 1, 2008 - CogniSign, the worldwide leader in image and video search and advertising technology, has launched a Joint Venture for the APAC region. CogniSign Asia Pacific is headquartered in Tokyo, and will target Consumer Internet and Mobile markets in the APAC region, including Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Singapore, and China. This new initiative will be lead by Mr. Koga, formerly a top executive at a public company in Japan. Mr. Koga has extensive experience in worldwide sales and business development, and for eight years focused these skills exclusively on the APAC region.

CogniSign views this strategic initiative as crucial to success in worldwide markets. “Everyone knows that the APAC region contains some of the largest Consumer Internet and Mobile players in the world,” said Bryan Calkins, CEO of CogniSign. “Our presence in the region and Mr. Koga’s leadership will enable us to build key relationships with the most important partners and customers in this region, with very positive implications for our company’s ability to compete worldwide.”

CogniSign Asia Pacific will manage all customer, partnership, and distribution relationships in the region for CogniSign.

Additionally, CogniSign will add staff in Silicon Valley to support these sales and business development efforts, including the localization of its technology platforms, products, and services for the various APAC markets.
