Get Started on your Costume, It's Time for the 22nd Annual Sundowner Event at Vizcaya Museum & Gardens
MIAMI-(Business Wire)-September 24, 2008 - The renowned 22nd annual Halloween Sundowner fundraiser is set to once again provide guests with a night they will not soon forget. All proceeds from this fundraiser benefit Miami’s historic Vizcaya Museum & Gardens located at 3251 South Miami Avenue. The ticketed event will be full of entertainment, with two dance floors, free wine, beer and top-shelf liquors provided to the general public, 21 and over. The event will take place Saturday, October 25, 2008 from 8:00 p.m. until midnight.
“With 2,000 guests in attendance, we are proud to host the biggest Halloween bash in South Florida. We invite our guests to celebrate with us and help us raise money for the museum and gardens, and delight in the astounding ambiance we provide through an amazing location and social setting. With thousands in attendance you are sure to see the most unique and original costumes,†stated Melissa Schechter, young professionals committee chair.
The mansion will be converted into an authentic Haunted House, but haunted by the living dressed as Playboy Bunnies, Super Heroes, Pirates, and other unique costumes that guests create on their own. The Vizcayans will also provide live music, free drinks, tours of the haunted gardens, food, a fortuneteller and, of course, a costume competition. The resident Vizcayan ghost and ghouls are privileged to enjoy this magnificent event free of charge.
“As guests left last year’s event all we heard was … 'see you at next year’s event,’ which reassured us that the 2008 event would be bigger and better than last year's dazzling event,†added Schechter.
The event will take place “rain or shine.†Costume attire is HIGHLY recommended. For ticket and member inquiries please visit www.vizcayans.org. You can also find more information and stay current on Vizcayans events at www.myspace.com/vizcayans.
