Mercur's 1st American History Essay and Lesson Plan Contest Set to Begin
MIAMI-(Business Wire)-September 5, 2008 - Mercur introduces its 1ST American History essay contest and lesson plan contest giving students and teachers around the nation a chance to win $500 in school and art supplies for their respective schools. With tighter school and household budgets, Mercur is providing teachers and students with the opportunity to bring award winning supplies to their schools, and all they have to do is put their knowledge to the test.
Mercurโs essay and lesson plan contest is open to all teachers and students who want to participate in expressing the importance of a Historical Figure or an American President of their choice. Students are to write an essay on a particular Historical Figure or an American President, who they feel is important to American History. Teachers are to submit a lesson plan, which will incorporate the teaching of different Historical Figures or American Presidents. The essays and plans must be submitted by December 31, 2008 and the contest winners will all be included in a press release and directly contacted on February 1st.

Entries for the essay and lesson plan contest can be submitted online via the promotions page at www.mercurusa.com, by e-mail to mercurusa@mercurusa.com or by mail (address can be found on the website). Mercur will then select a lesson plan and essay contest winner from three grade groupings for a total six winners. The winners will receive a variety of school supplies, ranging from different types of erasers to color pencils with a total retail value of $500.
